This painting depicts a sturdy willow tree by the Rhine River, captured by my master artist 23 years ago. Given my passion for nature, she suggested I paint it. At that time, there was a film called “From Karkheh to the Rhine”, about an Iranian soldier who fought beside the Karkheh River during the Iran-Iraq war, was exposed to chemical warfare, and later went to Germany for treatment by the Rhine River. This painting always reminds me of the selflessness of soldiers who sacrificed themselves for our safety.
